Re-install App Without Losing Settings on OS X

Light Pillar apps for OS X store most settings data in the Application Support directory, which is the location recommended by Apple for apps to write data files. If you drag an app to the trash any files it has created in the Application Support folder remain on the disk which means you can re-install the app without losing your settings. 

In order to re-install the app without removing this data:

• Locate the app in the Applications folder
• Drag the app to the trash to remove it from your system
• Open the Mac App Store app
• Click the Purchases tab
• All purchases made on your iTunes account will be listed, locate the app and click the INSTALL button

Once the app is installed you can run it again and it should load the settings from the Application Support folder from the previous installation.
