When an OS X app crashes, if possible OS X saves a crash log to aid developers in locating the cause of the problem. To help developers fix the issue email them the crash logs so they can investigate exactly what happened on your computer.
The crash logs are located in 2 different locations on each platform. Here are the paths to these files for each version of OS X:

- /Library/Logs/CrashReporter
- ~/Library/Logs/CrashReporter
- /Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
- ~/Library/Logs/DiagnosticReports
- Open the Finder app
- Click the Go menu
- Select the Go To Folder... option
- copy and paste the path from above, being sure to include the ~ when present
- Press the Go button
- In the folder that opens in folder locate the files containing the name of the app you wish to collect crash logs for
- Email these files to the developer
