Click & Select is an alternative method of arranging your windows, if for example you prefer not to have layouts appearing when you drag and drop, or simply prefer to use shortcut keys to apply layouts to windows Click & Select may be a good option for you.
Click & Select is triggered by pressing a shortcut key which you an define in the Behaviour tab of the Mosaic preferences, but defaults to ⌥⇧⌘L.
Click & Select can be configured to trigger the panel for any of the layout views, and also a special mode called Quick Layout.
With Quick Layout selected when you press the shortcut key a panel is displayed full screen showing an image of the window the layout will be applied to, along with the available layouts and the Quick Layout grid. You can apply a layout by simply clicking on one from the pre-defined layouts, or you can click and drag on the Quick Layout grid to define a new layout to apply this time only. You can customise the grid size and gutters in the Quick Layout tab of the preferences.
Alternatively, if you prefer you can select from any of the other layout views to appear when you trigger Click & Select. The options available are Docked, Row, Column and Grid. These are the same layout views used by the Drag & Drop option, and look the same, except when triggered by Click & Select they will display the name of the application that will be resized and a close button so the panel can be closed if you decide not to apply a layout.
