I have the same problem. I also get different results with different positions of the cursor in the menubar of the dragged window.

It has to be a bug. I'm having the same issue. Every time I resize any window, I get the "Issue Resizing" dialogue box. I contacted Support a few weeks ago and haven't heard back. This kind of defeats the purpose of using Mosaic.

It works fine on my old Intel iMac MacOS 12.3.1, but not on my brand new Mac Studio M1 Max MacOS 12.3.1...

I've been in contact with Support and heard back. He said they couldn't reproduce on the M1 or Intel chip (which is where I'm having difficulty). I've narrowed down my issue to just Chrome at this point—no clue what's going on.

You may consider reaching out to them so they know it's a wider spread issue than just me. I'm encouraged I did at least hear back.

I've just sent a request on my side.

I use almost exclusively this app with my browser (Vivaldi) which is also based on Chrome and seems to be the only app having resizing issues.

On M1 the issue might be with Chrome, I'll comment once the support reaches me.

Also having this issue and can confirm that I'm only experiencing it on Chrome on an M1 Mac. I'm guessing Chrome updated their windowing API and it doesn't interact well with Mosaic. But I'm not sure. I'll submit a ticket as well.

Same issue here (M1) and I can confirm it is only happening to Chrome and Brave (based on chromium). Interestingly, the issue is very persistent but there are times that resizing does work, for instance immediately after Chrome is updated only to break again after a short period of time.

I emailed support a while back already and never heard back. I sent a new request today. Hopefully, they're looking into this issue, Chrome is super popular and should be supported.

I've created a ticket as well and pointed support at this thread. They cannot reproduce yet, but I have heard back from them.

Me too. It seems like enough of us have reported it that they’re looking into it.

I've heard back from support and provided a list of information they need in order to look at the problem. I should also note that I have a second mac where the issue is non-existent. That machine is updated to macOS Big Sur 11.6.5. The machine where I am experiencing the issue is only updated to 11.5.2.

Don't think updating the Mac will solve the issue, since me for example I'm on Monterey 12.3.1

The issue really seems to be Chrome-based related app since it's the only app I have an issue with

Same issue on Macbook M1 - macOS Monterey v12.3+ and v12.4

Chrome will position itself correctly at the top left corner of the layout; however, it will not resize.

Wow! I have been away from this thread for a while, and didn't notice so many with the same issue! Sort of encouraging, and not at the same time.

Let's hope this is sorted out soon. It's a shame, I have stopped using it as I cant stand inconsistencies. With software for me, it either has to work, or not. If not, I can walk away, but there is a glimmer of hope it will be addressed.

Did anyone get any news from the support?

It seems like the last update was months ago (October last year I think) and very little feedback on this issue, I'm wondering if the developer is simply dropping this product.

Nope. Not heard a thing. I raised a ticket as well as others, and had no response. I also left a follow up message and not heard anything. As someone working in customer support, this is pretty bad customer support. At least acknowledge it even if it is out of their control.

I had some back and forth with support to help them try to reproduce the issue, but I haven't heard anything since May 13 (28 days ago). I am close to dropping the tool.

Same. Let me know if you guys find a suitable replacement. I’ve also shared this thread with support, hoping they’ll see how widespread the issue is.

To be honest, it's tough to find a good replacement, I use Tiles and also used Magnet. They are good but I didn't find one like Mosaic where I can make custom sizes. They all have predefined preset. If anyone has another app to recommend, I'm also happy to know it.

Update: Rectangle is based on Spectacle and active. Trying that out now.

    ---

I was using Spectacle before switching to Mosaic. It's no longer maintained, but it still works for me. I've switched back to it.

Spectacle doesn't have custom sizes either, so won't work for you if that's a requirement.

Thats good to know. I am abandoning and using Rectangle as it does all I need! Such a shame :(

Thanks for the recommendation! Trying Rectangle right now and it looks super nice :)

This is awful. I've tried Mosaic in the past through Setapp, then I canceled my Setapp subscription and moved back to Magnet. I thought Mosaic would be a better fit for my new setup (bigger screen), it used to work fine so I went ahead and bought the pro edition. Now I have this Chrome resizing inconsistency and after reading this thread I just have the feeling that the developer just doesn't care about fixing it.

I never heard back from the developer/support after I gave them all the details I could regarding the issue (this was back on May 17). I followed up about three weeks ago but never heard back. I think they don't care to fix the issue. It is a shame because otherwise, this is a good app. I too got it as part of Setapp - it was one of the reasons why I decided to subscribe but this problem is making me reconsider that subscription. I have tried Rectangle and it's pretty good and free. I thought I'd miss the GUI aspect that Mosaic brings but honestly, it's very easy to use keyboard shortcuts instead and it doesn't have any issues re-sizing Chrome. Too bad.

I haven't been seeing the issue happening as of late, I think it has to do with the recent Chrome update. That is all i can think of since Mosaic itself hasn't been updated (as far as I can tell). Anyone else feel like they aren't experiencing the issue anymore?

Original Poseter: I am happy to say I have switched to Rectangle, and very happy with it.

Not hearing back from them about this is very disappointing. I can see it may be a small team (maybe just a single kid in their bedroom who knows) but as a paying customer, I expect at least some acknowledgment.

Even if the recent Chrome updates have fixed it, I am sticking with Rectangle.

Good luck to those persevering with Mosiac, I hope it is sorted soon, and maybe I will be back one day.

I wish I had seen this thread before buying it. I wish I knew about Rectangle earlier.
