Subscription: too late to think again?

Window Tidy was/is a great app; Mosaic looks even better, but it’s a crowded field and that subscription model is a major downer. WT was $9 plus the occasional update. Mosaic is either £24 a year or £36 a year —ok £12 or £24 with discount. I understand that developers need to make a living, and I would not grumble too much at having to pay £24 for a new version, but knowing that this is (another) monthly cost in perpetuity just makes me feel bad enough to look for alternatives or go on using WT. I’m sorry, I don’t think I have ever complained to a dev about price before, but I hate to see things go this way.

Do you have a link for version 2.1.3 of WT by any chance?
